The fair and the beach

A couple of weeks ago we visited the Western North Carolina Mountain Fair that takes place not too far from where we live here in Asheville. Elliott really enjoyed the petting zoo as you can see from some of the pictures that we posted. Also, there is a funny video of Elliott feeding one of the animals. Go to the "Movie" section to see that. After the petting zoo, it was time to ride some of the rides. At first, Elliott was a little unsure about them, but after a ride or two, he was hooked! It didn't take long at all for Elliott to know the value of those little red tickets we purchased and then handed to the people operating the different rides.
Last week we were down at Myrtle Beach. Elliott LOVED everything about the beach! Every day we dug in the sand, took long walks, and played in the waves. We also fed the sea gulls, which Elliott found was a good way to lure them closer, so he could run and try to catch them. Click on "Pictures" to see all the great photos. There has been a lot of action lately in the Baumrind house, which has not left much time for posting pictures. But finally, we took some time to sort through the pictures, and pick out some good ones to share with everyone.
We just had a action packed weekend! On Friday Josh, Jessica, Uncle Gary and Aunt Christy came down from Baltimore for a week-long visit! On Saturday morning we all drove to Dillsboro to take a ride on Thomas The Train which the children all loved! Then on Sunday, Henry was baptized with Aunt Christy and Uncle Gary being his Godparents!

On June 20th, Elliott welcomed to the world, his new little brother. Mommy and Daddy named him Henry David Baumrind. He arrived at 9:26am, weighed in at 7 pounds 2 ounces, and measured 19 inches long.
Henry was so ready to be brought into the world that Mommy and Daddy barely made it to the hospital in time. They arrived to the hospital around 8:15am and little more than an hour later Henry was born.
Daddy promises to post the hospital pictures by Saturday, so please check back!

An Egg Hunt at the Biltmore Estate

Happy Easter!
Today, Elliott, Elizabeth and Jan all went to the Biltmore Estate for the Easter Egg hunt. Temperatures were still just barely above freezing, but that wasn't going to stop Elliott from collecting as many eggs as possible and also getting his first glimpse of the real Easter Bunny!

Dreaming of a white...Easter?

Elliott awoke this morning to a Winter..... I mean, an Easter Wonderland. The marshmallow peeps were gathered around the fire while beautiful icicles hung from the roof with care. That's right, 2 inches of snow, the day before Easter! And just last week Elliott was playing in the sandbox in shorts and sandals, and today it's 15 degrees and the tulips are covered in snow!

Just uploaded are 3 new pages of pictures. First we have pictures from our trip to Atlanta to go to the aquarium. While we were there, we visited Elizabeth's friend Jessica and her daughter Amelia. Also posted are pictures from our trip to Orlando. And the newest picture posted are from the March 11th. We went to one of our favorite places here where we live in Asheville, the Biltmore Estate. We walked around some of the trails there with our friends Dennis, Lisa and Aiden and had great fun!
Elliott's Second Birthday!

There are several new pages of pictures posted today. The first page called "Hair Cut" is of one of Elliott's hair cuts. Sometimes these go okay, and other times Elliott doesn't want to have anything to do with it and really puts up quite a protest about it.
The second new page called "The Park" is from Saturday, January 13th. We were having beautiful weather here in the mountains. It reached almost 70 degrees that day! We just had to go to the park and enjoy being outside.
The newest page of pictures, which is the first set of pictures you'll see when you click on "Pictures" up above, are pictures from Elliott's birthday. We had a great time! Elliott's buddies, Aiden and Abby both came over to celebrate with Elliott, along with a lot of Elliott's family. We first had some food, then cup cakes, and then it was time to open presents. Grandpa Baumrind gave Elliott a train table and Elliott just loved it! Thanks Grandpa!
